Tsavo West National Park
Welcome to Tsavo West, a stunning, untamed environment, where you can witness fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water rushing out of the Mzima Springs, which are made of under-parched lava rock, and the Shetani lava flows. Open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woods, as well as belts of riverine vegetation and rocky hills, such as the Poacher's Lookout, where tourists may observe the swarming herds in the plains below, make up the savannah habitat. Some of the most breathtaking game watching in the world can be found in Tsavo West.
Wildlife
The display of The most inviting and beautiful landscape in Africa may be seen at Mzima Springs, where fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water pour out from the underside of parched lava rocks. Ancient Lion Lands: In 1898, two of the most ravenous and insatiable man-eating lions appeared on the scene and abruptly stopped the construction of the Uganda railway. They fought intermittently against the railway and all those associated with it for more than nine months in the area of Tsavo.
Shetani lava is a colourful volcanic arena formed by molten lava that erupted from the earth around 200 years ago. The inhabitants believed that the Devil was responsible for the burning rage. There are roaring cliffs and Poacher's Lookout, and the park is plenty with panoramic viewing points from which to watch the herds' movements. Tsavo West provides some of the world's most spectacular game watching, including thrilling game drives. The ever-increasing number of black rhinos in Ngulia Sanctuary are on the verge of going extinct due to widespread poaching caused in the 1960s.
Nestled on the border between Kenya and Tanzania, Lake Jipe is alive with aquatic life. One of the main activities there is bird viewing.
East African Campaign, First World War Site The "Bundu" (Bush), the little-visited wilderness of prickly scrub and deep woodland of Tsavo West, was the scene of perhaps the most peculiar campaign of the global war. This final "gentleman war" was fought using guerrilla tactics adapted from African tribal warriors or, occasionally, the code of honour. You may follow the actual paths of World War Veterans with the help of guided tours of the Crater, Kichwa Tembo, and Mzima Fort.
